Fan-tastic Effort From Celtic's Volunteers

A hardy band of volunteers assembled at Bower Fold on Saturday morning, home of Stalybridge Celtic, to remove the snow and frost covers from the playing surface.

On Friday afternoon, the club announced that the NPL Premier Division fixture against Matlock Town had been postponed due to the recent weather.

However, Celtic’s fans still turned out in force on Saturday morning in a bid to prepare the pitch for the upcoming fixtures over the festive period.

Upon completion, the volunteers moved indoors for the annual Christmas Dinner.

Organised by Stalybridge Celtic Supporters’ Association, the meal attracted a good number of fans and helped to raise much-needed funds for the association.

Lifelong fan Michael Beech won the 50-50 draw, and subsequently donated his £380 prize to the association.
