Fish hooks Hepple to help lead Mossley line

Mossley have added some extra fire power to their lineup with Nick Hepple signing from fellow NPL West side Wythenshawe Town.

The 32-year-old came to non-League late after a career with the Army, where he won the Army Cup and Super Cup in consecutive seasons.

He has also played for Clitheroe, AFC Darwen, AFC Blackpool, had two spells with Kendal Town and a prolific stint at Poulton Town of the West Lancashire League.

The striker played the full 90 minutes on his debut in the 3-0 defeat at Stafford Rangers on Saturday, with Lilywhites manager David Fish praising his approach.

“He’s a slightly different type of forward. He runs in behind, he’s strong, he’s aggressive, he gives us a different option.

“He can play out wide as well, so he does have that versatility.

“I thought he did okay today. He was a bit unlucky; he made a great run to get his chance, he cut back, but it was a good save from [Stafford goalkeeper, Cameron] Belford.

“He’s not played a lot of football recently, so it’s good to get 90 minutes under his belt.”

Fellow number nine Eric Yahaya will return from suspension for Mossley’s Tuesday night home game against Kidsgrove Athletic, while Reece Webb-Foster is close to a return after two months on the sidelines.
