Glossop RUFC made it back-to-back wins over the weekend with a 30-7 victory over De La Salle.
The Hillmen got off to a good start against DLS with a smart move from a lineout which saw back rower Damian Chabas stride over.
Tom Dearnaley slotted the conversion in tricky, windy conditions to lead 7-0.
Shortly after, in what turned out to be a very physical match, Glossop centre Dalloway was sin binned for 10 minutes, following a high tackle.
Dearnaley extended Glossop’s lead with a penalty to make it 10-0.
The only other score of the half fell to the home side’s free scoring winger Joe Griffiths, following a wonderful miss pass from the influential Dearnaley, to see the lead extend to 15-0.
Glossop’s pack put in a good scrummaging performance for the second week running but it was winger Billy Whiston who got the next try following smart work from Chris Sonczak.
The physical Salford visitors had more ball in the second half but it was Griffiths again for Glossop with a mazy run to push the lead to 25-0.
Captain Zak Round got himself on the score sheet with a powerful tackle busting run and at 30-0 the game descended in to a bit of an arm wrestle with further yellow cards for each side and a midfield fracas that interrupted play.
The visitors, game until the end, finally got on the score sheet themselves to leave a final score of 30-7.
