NPL West: Runcorn Linnets 1-1 Glossop North End
Glossop North End's impressive run of form continued with a 1-1 draw at Runcorn Linnets on Saturday.
The end of October marked a turn in fortunes for the Hillmen, with Saturday's result stretching the Hillmen's unbeaten league run to six games.
Stuart Mellish's side, who are now 16th in the table, took the lead at the Apec Taxis Stadium in the 65th minute through Sekuba Sanogo. After Keaton Mulvey had forced goalkeeper Dermot Mee into a decent stop, Sanogo capitalised on the loose ball and had the simple task of prodding home from from close range.
Glossop should have doubled their advantage just two minutes later, however Mee, on his debut for the hosts, pulled off a great save to deny Luke Nock.
The Hillmen were left to rue that missed opportunity as Runcorn drew matters level from the penalty spot nine minutes later. Dapo Olarewaju's marauding run into the Glossop box drew a foul, leaving referee Archibold with no choice but to award the penalty, for which Joe Lynch converted low and hard with confidence.
Chances were few and far between in the final 15 minutes and Glossop, who host second bottom Kendal Town this weekend, picked up their fifth draw on the road this season.
