Diving star Anthony Harding began the World Aquatics Diving World Cup season with a 3rd place finish in Guadalajara, Mexico.
Competing in the 3m springboard synchro event with partner Jack Laugher, they came in behind Chinese youngsters Hu Yakang and Zheng Jiuyuan and home favourites Osmar Olvera and Juan Celaya.
The latter upgraded their silver medals from last year’s Paris Olympics to take the win on 430.23 points, with Harding and Laugher’s 396.06 overtaking German duo Lou Massenberg and Moritz Wesemann on the final dive by 0.39 points.
The World Cup resumes next weekend in Windsor, Canada, before heading to Beijing for the Super Final in the first week of May.
