Local Teams In Cup Semi-Final

It’s a big game for two of our amateur teams this weekend as Waterloo AFC host Denton Town in the FOOTY.COM Saturday Challenge Trophy semi-final.

The FOOTY.COM Saturday Challenge Trophy is an important one for our local sides as it’s the amateur equivalent of the Manchester Premier Cup as both are run by the Manchester FA.

Both teams have had a tough journey to the semi-final but have come through them with flying colours. Denton Town beat East Manchester FC 2-0 at home to book their place in the semi-final stage. Waterloo AFC beat Trafford United 5-1 away from home to set up the semi-final tie.

It’s sure to be a hotly contested fixture with both teams looking to secure their place in the final to take on either Heyside or Moorside Rangers who play in the other semi-final.

The game takes place at Wright Robinson College this Saturday (16th) with a 13:30 kick off.
