Robins make double swoop

Yahaya featuring for Mossley last season - Martyn Nolan

Ashton United boss Steve Cunningham has bolstered his squad with the arrival of forward Eric Yahaya and midfielder Owen German.

Yahaya joins on a one-month loan from Warrington Rylands, having spent last season with fellow Tamesiders Mossley, where he scored eight goals in 38 league games.

The 27-year-old has made six league appearances for Rylands this season, finding the net once with a last gasp winner at Workington.

German comes in from National League side Altrincham, having spent the first part of the campaign on loan at Alfreton Town, making seven National League North appearances.

The 20-year-old will remain at Hurst Cross until early January.

Both made their Robins debuts in last night’s win over Hebburn, with German playing a full 90, and Yahaya coming on as a second half substitute.
