Smith set to stay until the end of the season

Oldham Athletic winger Jonny Smith has extended his loan with the club until the end of the season.

Smith joined Latics on a season long loan from Bristol City last summer, but he returned by parent club Bristol City in January due to a recall clause in his contract.

However, City have since agreed that Smith can stay with Oldham until the end of the season.

The 22-year-old has so far made 23 appearances, scoring seven goals in his fourth loan spell away from the Championship club.

On the news, Head Coach Dino Maamria said; "The club have worked very hard to get this done after interest from others due to the fine form he has been in.

"He's a big part of this team this season and he's really enjoying his time here, so it was only right we tried to keep a hold of him, which I am sure the fans will be happy about.”
