Stalybridge Celtic Juniors Raise £4,765 For Save The Children

A charity football match organised by Stalybridge Celtic Juniors has raised £4,765 for Save the Children.

The game, which took place at Bower Fold on Saturday 19 March, was contested between the club's coaches and parents.

The event was well supported and attracted more than 300 people through the gates, which included the players' family members, friends and the wider community. Attendees were treated to an entertaining game on the pitch, as well as an array of refreshments in Bower Fold Events, including popcorn, candy floss, burgers and chips.

In a bid to generate further funds for the charity, Bower Fold Events held a raffle and also donated a generous amount to the cause.

The game itself ended 4-2 to 'Team Parents'.

The Save the Children Fund, commonly known as Save the Children, was established in the United Kingdom in 1919 to improve the lives of children through better education, health care, and economic opportunities, as well as providing emergency aid in natural disasters, war, and other conflicts.
