Stalybridge Celtic have released a statement to update fans on the current financial situation at the club.
In this statement, they say that the economic climate has resulted in lower than anticipated commercial income, severely affecting their cashflow.
Two consecutive postponements of home games in December worsened this further, with the loss of income from these matches.
The club has had to look to reduce its operating expenditure, including the playing budget.
Stalybridge Celtic have made the tough decision to reduce the playing budget by approximately 20%, resulting in some players being released from the squad.
The club’s Board has held meetings with the newly re-formed Stalybridge Celtic Supporters Association, working to decide how they can assist the club.
Stalybridge are planning several fundraisers over the next few months, hoping to bring funds in.
Support from fans is integral during crisis times like these, and Celtic say their fans have been superb this season.
Rob Gorski is seeking to sell his shares to find a new majority shareholder, aiming to find someone who can invest in the club and propel it forward.
