The discount supermarket is hoping to build a new store on the plot of The Pearl Restaurant when their lease end in 2029.
Lidl is hosting a public consultation on Wednesday 9th April between 3pm – 7pm at Aldwinians Rugby Club, to gather views from the local residents.
The chain has stores already in Ashton, Denton and Openshaw.

Lidl’s proposal states: “A new Lidl food store at this site would increase shopping choice, provide Lidl’s affordable and high-quality products, and create up to 40 new local jobs.
“The Pearl restaurant’s lease will end in 2029. Lidl is therefore proposing an outline planning application to agree site access, landscaping and layout. If approved, Lidl would then submit a detailed (reserved matters) planning application to agree further details.”
