Could you be the one for Maggie? RSPCA’s gentle lurcher mum seeks a loving home

Meet Maggie the beautiful, gentle lurcher mum who has touched the hearts of staff at the RSPCA Tameside and Glossop branch.

We have been following along with Maggie's journey over the last month but sadly despite her loving nature and her story reaching many, not a single adoption enquiry has come in for her.

Maggie’s journey has been far from easy. Rescued from a background of neglect, she arrived with both physical and emotional scars. She’d never had a soft bed, regular meals, or known the comfort of being part of a family. But through it all, Maggie has shown remarkable resilience and has been a devoted, gentle mother to her pups.

Now, it’s Maggie’s turn to find happiness.

“She is the softest, kindest natured dog ever,” say staff at the centre. “She just needs a chance.”

Maggie has been up for adoption through the RSPCA Tameside and Glossop branch for the past three weeks and has received not one single enquiry.

Her ideal home would be calm, patient, and understanding, somewhere she can go at her own pace and finally feel safe.

Because of her past, Maggie will need ongoing support: she must be kept on a lead at all times and cannot live with small furry animals like cats or rabbits. However, she is happy around other dogs and is improving with toilet training and lead walking every day.

The RSPCA is encouraging potential adopters to visit Maggie a few times before adoption, to help her transition into a home when she’s ready. A home check and adoption fee will apply.

If you think you could offer Maggie the love she’s never known, please email: office@rspca-tameside-glossop.org.uk to speak to a member of the team about Maggie or request a Perfect Match form.

Let’s help Maggie finally find the safe, loving future she deserves.
