England Honour: Hyde's George is appointed U19 captain

Hyde cricketer George Balderson has been selected to captain the England U19 squad in the Tri-Series against India and Bangladesh.

George, who is currently involved in Lancashire’s 2ndXI three day fixture at against Yorkshire, was assigned captaincy after impressing England Lions coach Jon Lewis during the winter tour to Bangladesh.

The young batsmen and bowler will lead his side in the competition, which begins on Sunday, July 21. England will play both teams four times to decide who will compete in the final at Hove on August 11.

In other news at Werneth Low, the club is hosting the Vitality Club T20 Finals Day on Sunday (14th).  Toft take on nantwich in the first semi-final, before Hyde clash with Chester Boughton Hall later in the afternoon. The winner of both will contest the final for the coveted trophy.
