Ashton United midfielder Paul Ennis has left the club to join FC United of Manchester.
The 29-year-old joins the club with a wealth of experience, having previously played for Stockport County, Stalybridge Celtic and Curzon Ashton amongst others.
Ennis joins a growing list of players to have signed for the Rebels ahead of the 2019/20 season. Locally, Curzon Ashton midfielder Ryan Shenton has also joined the club.
Upon joining the Rebels, Ennis told the club's website: “I’ve had a huge amount of experience of playing non-league football and am familiar with this level. It’s brilliant to join FC United. I spoke to the Gaffer for five minutes, and pretty much made my mind up. I’ve played against FC United five- or six-times including games at Broadhurst Park. It’s a brilliant atmosphere to play in front of. I know the background to the club and I know a number of players who have previously played here; and everyone speaks fondly of the club. Another important factor was that I know what a family friendly club it is. I want to get my two children and fiancée involved in the club. I’m really looking forward to it.”
