A specialist bomb disposal unit was called to Denton today after a grenade was found at a house.
Crews were sent to Delamere Road just before 2pm this afternoon (Wednesday).
They safely removed the device from the property and took it to a field nearby, where it was destroyed in a controlled explosion.
In a statement, Greater Manchester Police said: “Shortly before 2pm today (Wednesday 12 August 2020) police were called to a report that a suspected grenade had been found at a property on Delamere Road, Tameside.
“Bomb disposal officers attended and safely removed the device to a nearby field where a controlled explosion was carried out.”
