Lees returns to the Fold

Stalybridge Celtic have confirmed the signing of Mark Lees ahead of the 2019/20 season in the Evo-Stik Premier Division.

The defender/midfielder joined on a dual registration from Ashton United towards the end of last season and impressed during his short stint at Bower Fold. He played a key role in helping the club avoid relegation on the last day of the season.

Lees appears to have fallen out of favour at Hurst Cross with an influx of new players joining the Robins following relegation to the Evo-Stik Premier Division.

He becomes the second player to have put pen to paper for Simon Haworth's side next season, with striker Neil Kengni, who became the club's top scorer with 12 goals last season, also committing for another campaign.
