Man seriously assaulted in Dukinfield

A 43-year-old man has been left with a serious facial injury after being assaulted outside a row of shops in Dukinfield.

Police say the man pulled up outside Neha Stores on Yew Tree Lane at around 7.10pm on the evening of Friday 4 October.

After confronting another man about knocking their car door in to his, the offender then punched the victim in the face, which caused a deep cut below his eye on his badly bruised and bloodied cheek.

The image, which the man has given permission to share, depicts the brutality of the injury he sustained.

Police are looking for the person responsible, who is described as a white male in his late 20s or early 30s.

He is also believed to around 6ft tall, medium build and wearing a black tracksuit.

The offender then fled in a silver SUV style vehicle - similar to a Nissan Qashqai - but the registration is unknown.

Anyone with any information or who may have been in the area at the time of the vicious attack is asked to contact PC Hunt by emailing 15651@gmp.police.uk, quoting crime reference CRI/06GG/0006307/19.
