Tameside NHS staff are on a mission to get active and fitter. On Saturday, they rallied fellow NHS employees to do the Stamford Park Parkrun.
There were doctors and nurses from primary care, NHS Managers and members of our local neuro-rehabilitation team. They joined 100s of other runners who come together every Saturday morning to run or walk 5km.
The NHS staff are encouraging everyone to join in. If you’re sporty enough to run or if you just need the fresh air to walk, it’s fun and friendly.
Dr Nita Taylor, GP at Grosvenor medical centre, and Dr Richard Bircher from Lockside Medical Centre Stalybridge were encouraging everyone to get out and get active.
Parkrun is free and open to everyone of any abilities. You can participate by volunteering and marshalling as well as running the course.
