Trams aren't running and there's heavy traffic following a collision on Lord Sheldon Way this afternoon.

A girl of ten has been rushed to hospital after being involved in a collision with a tram in Ashton.

Emergency services were quickly on the scene at the Ashton West stop following the collision which happened at around 3pm.

The girl was rushed to hospital having suffered head injuries.

GMP Dukinfield tweeted the following at around 3:30pm:

There are currently no Metrolink services running between Ashton-under-Lyne and Ashton Moss.
