Ashton MP Angela Rayner has been sacked as the chair of the Labour Party.
It comes after a tough night for Labour across the UK in local and mayoral elections.
Locally, Tameside bucked the trend, but that was not a picture that was repeated nationally.
Rayner remains the deputy leader of the Labour Party, as that is an elected position. She also remains the MP for Ashton-Under-Lyne.
