Tameside Council has urged anyone affected by the tornado and needing help to call 0161 3422222.
A spokesman said: "We have various staff out assessing and clearing up debris and fallen trees to make areas safe.
"We are receiving a high volume of calls for fallen trees and aborists are continuing to work across the affected areas to clear trees as fast as possible.
"Any new, emergency reports can be directed to our call centre on 0161 3422222.
