Two prolific shoplifters will spend Christmas behind bars after being jailed at Tameside Magistrates’ Court this week.
42-year-old James Connors from Hyde was sentenced to eight weeks behind bars for five thefts and five breaches of a Criminal Behaviour Order.
He had been in hiding for several weeks after Greater Manchester Police (GMP) appealed for his whereabouts last month.
Daniel Stafford was also jailed for eight weeks after being convicted of seven thefts around the town.
PCSO Andy Mantell from the Tameside South Neighbourhood Team said: “A good result for the team. We are determined to continue to support businesses and target shoplifters that are a blight on the town centre!”
