The Tour de Manc cycle race will be coming through Tameside this weekend.
Riders begin leaving the start point in Middleton, in the Rochdale area of Greater Manchester, at 7.30am on Sunday (5 September).
Three of the four associated events – the Mad Manc, the Full Manc and the Half Manc – will enter the borough from Compstall, travelling over Werneth Low, through Gee Cross, Hattersley, Mottram, Stalybridge and Mossley before departing into Greenfield.
In the Half Manc, the lung-busting ride over Werneth Low will be used to decide the King/Queen of the Mountain crown.
The first Tour de Manc riders should reach Tameside (Werneth Low) at around 8am on Sunday, while the last ones should have made their way out of Mossley and into Greenfield by midday.
Tameside Council, which is among the Tour sponsors, will be hosting a feeding station at the Hare and Hounds, Werneth Low Road, next to Hyde Cricket and Squash Club.
