A Tameside Councillor has appealed for people to work together for a cleaner community.
Cllr Kaleel Khan from Ashton St Peters Ward has formed a weekly cleaning group and is appealing for more volunteers to join the cause.
He said: “It’s a great way to make a positive impact, meet others who care about our community and help keep our shared spaces clean and welcoming for everyone.
“Together, we can make a real difference, just in time for the festive season.”
Cllr Khan has been running these litter-picking sessions in a bid to keep the streets of Tameside clean.
He started the ‘Don’t Start Our Streets’ initiative, trying to stop the excessive fly-tipping problem which has haunted the streets of Tameside.
The upcoming litter-picking session is set to be on Sunday, November 24 at noon, with the location to be announced based on community needs.
