Blindfolded 'prisoners' take Ceasefire message to Robert Largan

Campaigners from Glossop visited the constituency office of Robert Largan on Friday, February 16, to call on him to support a ceasefire in Gaza.

Two members of the groups were half stripped and blindfolded, just as prisoners in Gaza have been seen on the television.

They were marched across the road and then made to kneel in front of the MP's office.

Passing cars tooted their support and shoppers who received the group's leaflet were mostly very supportive.

MP Robert Largan came out to talk to the protesters.

"The tide is slowly turning against Israel," said Linda Walker of High Peak Stand Up to Racism, who organised the protest. "More and more governments are speaking out against the killing of children and deliberate targeting of hospitals. But the situation is now desperate with people actually starving.

"The World Health Organisation says more people may die of hunger and disease than from the bombing. The US and UK governments need to tell Israel they must stop now, and stop providing them with weapons and military support."
