Ultra runner visits Peak District in marathon challenge for Ukraine

Tomasz Drybala.

An ultra-runner is making his way through the Peak District as he takes on the challenge of running 2500km across the UK.

Tomasz Drybala from Scotland, who is raising funds for the UNICEF Ukraine Crisis Appeal, has completed 1100km so far.

The dad-of-two, who has family members who have had to leave their homes in Ukraine for Poland, said: “I'm doing my part, whatever I can, to help the Ukrainian people, and I appreciate your help in boosting donations.”

Anyone who would like to support his fundraising efforts can do so at www.justgiving.com/fundraising/tomasz-drybala

His mammoth run which sees him complete between 40km and 50km a day is just the first stage of his ambition plans.

“My run through the UK is a part of the training to run the circumference of the Earth, 40,075 km, which I will complete by the end of 2025,” he explained. “All the time fundraising for UNICEF.”
