Police conducted a knife arch operation at Failsworth tram stop in collaboration with Metrolink staff yesterday.
The aim of the initiative was to ensure public safety and fare compliance.
Metrolink staff supported the use of the knife arch and imposed a condition of carriage, requiring all passengers to pass through the arch.
As a result, officers conducted stop searches on 14 individuals, and Metrolink staff issued numerous fines for non-payment.
