Celtic's August star man revealed

Kallum Mantack has been voted Stalybridge Celtic's Player of the Month for August by their fans.

The 21-year-old enjoyed an impressive first month at Bower Fold, appearing in all five of Celtic’s games and scoring his first goal for the club in their 5-1 win over Scarborough Athletic.

Not missing a minute of August action, Mantack was also part of a solid team which ended the month with three successive clean sheets and has been voted their star man by the supporters.

He received 46 per cent of the final vote, with Alex Fojticek, Craig Hobson, Mark Lees, Stephen O’Halloran, Nathan Valentine, Declan Walker, Neil Kengni, Tony Whitehead and Ross Dent, Scott Bakkor, Adam Freeland, Liam MacDevitt and Greg Wilkinson also receiving votes.

The versatile Mantack, who can play in defence and midfield, joined the club in the summer after spells at Altrincham and Curzon Ashton last season.

He started his career at Oldham Athletic, coming through the youth ranks and making three first-team appearances.
