Controversial goal costs Lilywhites

Greater Manchester Women's League Premier Division: Sale Ladies 3-2 Mossley Women

Mossley AFC Women started their League campaign with a tough away trip to Sale and went down to a controversial winning goal in a
3-2 defeat.

In a game of two halves Mossley took a 2-0 lead with two classy finishes from Kenzie Bentley but really Mossley should have been out of site in a dominant first half.

Sale grabbed a goal back just before the break, and Mossley never got going in the second half losing to a late goal w hich really should not have stood as the referee clearly blew his whistle for a foul before the ball was put into the net.

It was a disappointing start but, with a lot of new signings and given time to gel, the signs were very good .

The Lily's continue in the Leauge on Sunday 19th September (2pm) with our first home game of the season at Seel Park ageanst Old Boltonians.
