Glossop came down to earth with a bump against the high-flying Preston based side, after recent improved performances.
After a fairly even opening 10 minutes, Tarleton scored two tries in quick succession to take a 14-0 lead.
There was a change in personnel for Glossop as the experienced Rob Sonczak replaced skipper Zak Round, for his first performance of the season.
The Carr Lane side increased their lead with a try out wide to then lead 19-0.
Glossop rang more changes but couldn't halt the home sides ascendency as they scored again out wide and converted for them to lead 26-0.
Just before half time, the Hill Men's ever reliable Jon Tennant made a break just inside the oppositions half and sprinted for the corner leaving defenders in his wake but his opposite number 9 covered well and brought off a stunning try saving tackle just as Tennant dived for the line.
The second half continued in much the same vein, with Glossop being guilty of not securing their own line out ball and spilling the ball too many times in attack, allowing Tarleton to counter.
Tarleton scored three more tries before eventually Tennant got one back for Glossop, to reduce the score to 43-5.
Further tries followed for the home side to see a final score of 60-5 to the Lancashire men.
Coach Kit Brammer (part of the coaching duo alongside Dan Clark) said afterwards "Sometimes you just come up against a much better side than yourselves".
That was certainly the case on Saturday.
